Will an iron-on patch stay on after washing, and can I reuse it?

Yes, our embroidered patches are made with durable threads and strong heat-activated adhesive, so they can withstand 40–50 gentle wash cycles without losing their shape or color. To extend the life of your iron-on badge, wash your clothing inside-out with mild detergent. Keep in mind that patches are designed for one-time application; once removed, the adhesive won’t work again. For maximum longevity, especially on uniforms or frequently washed items, you can sew around the edges after ironing. This gives your custom logo patches a permanent hold while keeping that clean embroidered look.

How do I apply an iron-on embroidery patch?

Applying your custom embroidery patch from Custom Patch Labels is quick and beginner-friendly. Place the patch on your jacket, hat, backpack, or shirt where you want it, then cover it with a thin cloth. Using a hot iron (cotton setting, around 270°F), press firmly for 20–30 seconds. For the best bond, flip the garment and press again from the inside. Once cooled, your iron-on patch is securely attached and ready to personalize your gear no sewing machine required.
